Shadow of the Black Rose showcases Dark Pagan, Dark Magick, and Dark Subculture creators such as bloggers, authors, artists, musicians, and more. Our goal is to give these creators an outlet to share their work and ideas with the rest of the world.
About Our Name
The “shadow” is a nod to the archetype postulated by Carl Jung. According to Jung, from birth, we struggle to meet the expectations of others. As a result, the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that our parents and peers find unacceptable are shoved deeper and deeper into our unconscious. Dark Paganism, Dark Magick, and Dark Subcultures strive to tap into the hidden power of the shadow.

We chose the “black rose” for a variety of reasons. A black rose results from human will and action, for it doesn’t exist in nature. Also, the color black has historically had a variety of meanings. The “black” in the black rose represents mortality, mystery, and the occult.
Our goal is to give Dark Pagan, Dark Magick, and Dark Subculture creators such as bloggers, authors, artists, and musicians an outlet to share their work and ideas with the rest of the world. By giving Dark creators a chance to share their work, we hope to help them promote themselves and enrich the Dark community.
